Transportation Research Center (TRC) has been founded in 2012 with substantive agreement of Iran’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MSRT). Existence of diverse transportation-related issues in Iran and its central regions as well as technical and analytical capabilities in Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) depicts necessity of establishing TRC close to the Faculty of Transportation Engineering. TRC consists of the following research groups:
- Research Group of Transportation Infrastructures
- Research Group of Transportation Modes
- Research Group of Transportation Systems Planning
Mission of these research groups are: 1) doing research in transportation facility optimization methods at urban, provincial, and national levels, 2) pushing the boundaries of science in advanced technologies related to vehicle and railway equipment, and 3) developing practical and analytical knowledge in the fields related to the transportation industry and sustainable development of Iran.
